My 2 year old mini Australian shepherd is usually friendly and adorable but would have erratic episodes of reactive behavior. This made walks challenging at times and if he got out of the house or yard, it could be dangerous. I had never boarded either of my dogs and was nervous about a Board & Train, but Adam took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. His trainer, Caity, sent photos and updates during his stay and it was great to see him playing well with other dogs. Our training session when he returned home was extremely helpful and left me feeling confident I could continue on my own. They have been very responsive with my followup questions as well. Our home has been transformed – walks are peaceful and fun (and often off-leash), my dog is happier both at home and out in the world. Family, friends, and even acquaintances have commented on the positive changes. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Sit Means Sit Dog Training.

Adam, the owner, made the entire sign-up process incredibly easy. He took the time to explain all the different training packages, listened to our concerns, and clearly explained how his team could help both us and our Cane Corso, Dexter. We never felt pressured and appreciated how knowledgeable and transparent he was throughout the process.

Since then, Caity has been Dexter’s trainer, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Dexter has learned so much, and we’re proud to show off the discipline, obedience, and confidence he’s gained through the program. We’re now much more comfortable taking him on walks and having guests over at our home.

The entire team has been professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in our dog’s success. There’s no doubt they know what they’re doing, and we highly recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone looking for quality dog training.

Thank you, Adam and Caity, for helping Dexter become the best version of himself!

We had an incredible experience with Sit Means Sit, and especially with Caity—she is truly exceptional.

We started with weekly in-home sessions while our puppy, Tomo, was still unvaccinated, which made the transition into training seamless and comfortable. Once he was ready, he completed the 9-day day training program—and the results honestly exceeded every expectation we had.

By the first couple of days, Tomo was already working off-leash, and by the time he finished (at just 4½ months old), he was remarkably well-trained. Everywhere we go, people comment that they’ve never seen a dog his age behave so well—and we have to agree.

What’s been most impressive is how practical and real-world the training is. I can take him to restaurants, have him sit calmly right next to me at the table, and actually relax and enjoy my time. That level of control and confidence is priceless.

We’re also excited to continue with their Thursday group classes, which is a huge added value.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the experience. If we ever get another dog, Sit Means Sit will be our first call—no question.

This training facility is amazing! I took my 4 month old pup to them for the 2 week board and train and he came home a new dog! The group sessions are awesome as well and they’re always readily available when you continue to have concerns or questions!

We had a great experience with sit means sit Modesto, Caity was amazing, she really transformed our Sage! Sage was always a loveable dog but had anxiety and barked at everything that walked by. Now she is calm and not phased by people when in elevators, at restaurants, walking down hallways, outside. It is amazing. Thank you Caity!!

After Katie worked with my VERY reactive german shepherd, he is a new dog. I can now walk around the neighborhood and on hikes and he doesn’t go crazy and scary barking at every dog he sees. It was embarrassing before and I always feared going on walks with him, but we can walk again in peace and I don’t have to worry about him reacting to any dog wherever we go – we can just enjoy the outdoors together again! It’s amazing!

Enrolled my 3 year old Schnauzer in the 2 week boarding and training course. Toby trained with Katie most of the time and what a difference she made. He no longer pulls us on leash when we walk him and his barking has lessoned as well. Upon coming home after the training, Toby has become much more lovable and does not jump up on new people

We could tell Katie loves her job just by the way she interacted with him. She also had no problem pointing out that Owners must be trained as well and must commit to following through with what she teaches.

I decided to go with the two week board and train for my 2 yr old rescue GS, Dawg. My biggest concern with Dawg is reactivity toward other dogs(barking/pulling on leash) passing vans and often with person(s) approaching when we are out. And even while we are in the home. I have struggled with being able to get Dawg’s attention long enough to focus on following through with commands.

I was referred by my girlfriend who mentioned she had great results with Sit Means Sit. From my first phone call, Adam made the process from start to finish so easy. By Adam explaining the training process from start to completion. Adam reassured me my issues with Dawg could be resolved through training and with consistency.

Dave was our assigned trainer. He was wonderful to work with. He is extremely knowledgable, passionate in his work, personable with both people and our pets. Which made it easier to leave him for the two weeks.

Dave sent daily text messages summarizing what he and Dawg had worked on in their daily sessions and how he did. And once a week Dave also sent a video update which showed them training for that day. When I picked Dawg up, Dave spent about an hour and a half training session. In that time Dave went over the instructions on the Sit Means Sit E- collar. Which I was able to purchase. It is water proof which is a necessity for our water sports during the summer months. The best part is it comes with comes with a lifetime warranty! After going over the instructions on how to use/charge the E collar. Dave then demonstrated everything that he and Dawg worked on during their two weeks. It included commands come, heel, place, sit, and off. He then handed me the leash and had me go through all the commands with Dawg. With Dave’s supervision and guidances the entire time. I could see there was definitely a considerably amount of change in his demeanor. Dawg seems more calm and focused when being spoken to.

Dawg was even able to stay focused while the food cart rolled by. Having him back home Dawg has been doing great with commands. Overall, I feel this was a great experience. This has given me a great foundation to work with and continue the training at home.

The training provided by Dave has given me the confidence I needed to feel comfortable and more at ease when taking him outdoors. Knowing even if there are distractions of dogs, people and passing vans. Having learned and continuing to learn how to make the connection with Dawg so his focus is on me and what I am asking him to do.

Lastly, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to both Dave and Adam for accommodating me at the last moment on Dawg’s pick up date. As I had overlooked an important doctor’s appt which prevented me from being able to pick Dawg up as scheduled. You and your staff are all so very AWESOME! Thank you so much.

I HIGHLY recommend Dave with Sit Means Sit!

We are beyond thrilled with the training our two dogs received at Sit Means Sit! Before the training, we faced several challenges with their behavior. In the car, they were always whining and jumping around, making trips stressful. During walks, we had to make wide berths to keep them from reacting to other dogs, and even then, it was hit or miss. Cola, especially, was super reactive while walking. We also always wanted to take them to dog-friendly venues like breweries and coffee shops, but it was never really an option due to their behavior. Additionally, our little dog, Blanca, used to bark constantly, which was exhausting, but now she barely barks at all!

After just three weeks of training with Marcos, the transformation has been incredible. We can now take them on walks without worry, and they respond to all the commands they’ve learned, making it so much easier to manage them. We’ve been taking them out daily, and we see improvement every time. They’re so much more focused and no longer try to approach other dogs or bark excessively. Another huge bonus is that we’re now able to take them to dog-friendly restaurants and coffee shops—something we never thought possible before!

We truly appreciate the extra private lessons Marcos provided, where he walked with us in our neighborhood to observe their behavior. This was invaluable as he was able to provide real-time feedback and correct any issues with Blanca and Cola, ensuring they were responding properly.

We also love the weekly training sessions at the park, where they get to practice with other dogs in similar situations. It’s been so effective and has made a noticeable difference in their behavior.

We are extremely happy with the results and want to give a big shout-out to Sit Means Sit and Marcos for such a fantastic experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch training!

Our dog is big and high energy. We have two younger children and had to keep her separate from them all the time because she would scare them and knock them over. Walking her was a pain and she always reacted to other dogs and it felt impossible to get her attention back. We did the board and train with Sit Means Sit and Dave was her trainer. I’m telling, I don’t know who this dog is anymore! She is currently roaming around our house with our kids and is responding to my commands. She is still getting readjusted to home but it’s a night and day difference already!! I was so impressed with Dave and how diligently he worked with her! He was so thorough with instructions before he sent her home with me! I feel like we are set up for continued success! We would 100% recommend Sit Means Sit!
